It’s the office joke that never stops being true — another meeting that could’ve been an email. Companies are increasingly holding endless sessions, sometimes just to plan or review previous meetings.
Employees say the habit wastes hours of valuable time and creates frustration. Many admit they leave back-to-back meetings with no clear decisions made, only another meeting scheduled.
Managers argue that meetings are essential for collaboration. But critics say poor planning and lack of focus make them productivity killers rather than enhancers.
As remote work grows, online video calls have only made the problem worse. Until businesses rethink communication, “meetings about meetings” will remain a part of office life.
