It seems one screen is no longer enough. A growing number of viewers admit they can’t watch TV or movies without a phone in hand, endlessly scrolling through Instagram, TikTok or Twitter at the same time.

Psychologists call it “two-screen syndrome” — the need for constant stimulation. Our brains are so used to fast-paced content that even a gripping Netflix series isn’t enough to hold attention for long. The result? Entire seasons watched without really remembering what happened.

Some viewers argue it’s multitasking at its finest. They keep up with entertainment, social media gossip and news all at once. But experts warn the habit is damaging focus and reducing enjoyment of both activities.

Streaming platforms are beginning to worry. If audiences can’t fully engage, will big-budget shows lose their impact? For now, two-screening seems here to stay — part of a distracted digital lifestyle.
